Picture Perfect Creations #60-For Auntie Nern

This week at Picture Perfect Creations we have a pretty colour combo for you to try!  It is soft and delightful!!  The best part is the chance to use Elegant Eggplant, I just love that pretty colour!

I decided to ink up Nature Walk set and En Francais, two of my favourites!  I wanted the background of the card to be subtle so the butterflies popped!  I used my Stampin' Write markers in Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz to ink up the floral image.  The butterflies are actually stamped in Concord Crush by mistake!  Argh!!  I had both purples on my desk and grabbed the wrong one!!!  Only I could do that!!

This is for my Auntie Nern who had a pacemaker put in on Tuesday.  She is doing very well and I am happy to say she is on the mend.  We think this pacemaker is going to make her feel so much better.

Thank you so much for stoppping by!  I hope you get the chance to head over to the PPC Challenge Blog to play along with us this week!!!

This week at the Paper Players we have a fun and easy challenge for you!  Anything Goes!  I decided to get a head start on my Father's Day cards and made this CAS creation using the new single stamp in the mini catalogue called 'Sail Away" and the great set called "Best Dad Ever".  The sentiments in the set are really clear and I love how they stamp!!

This card does not have a lot of frills or extras, but hopefully the simplicity of this card makes it fun to make and perfect for a man!  I think my father in law will like this card!!! I hope he will.

Be sure to stop by the Paper Players and share some of your creativity with us.  I am looking forward to seeing your creations!

Friday Mashup #8-Sketch and Colour Combo

This week at the Friday Mashup, Kathy has created an awesome sketch and colour combo for you to try!!  I wanted to use My Digital Studio to create a special scrapbook page for my parents.  This photo is of my mom and dad, taken in February while they were in Hawaii celebrating my mom's 60th birthday!!  On Sunday is their 40th Wedding Anniversary and my Dad's 62nd birthday!!  They were married on my dad's birthday in 1971 quite by accident, the church and hall had double-booked them for the weekend before and so May 29th was left!  So funny!!

My mom and dad are special, kind-hearted people and I am thankful everyday for their support and love!

Come on by the Friday Mashup this week and join us!  I loved playing with these colours!!!  To see the page in full size please click on it!

Colour Dare #102- Crushing on Pansies

This week at the Colour Dare, Riley has asked us to use some gorgeous colours perfect for Springtime!  This week I struggled with the colours and then I found inspiration on Kathy Schweinfurth's Blog "The Paper Stamper".  She is a fellow design team member for the Friday Mashup and I just adore her creative style!

The Colour Dare colours this week are:
Concord Crush
So Saffron
and a Neutral

On Kathy's blog is a terrific tutorial on how to make Paper Pansies using the Butterfly Punch.  I have wanted to try this technique for a long time and was excited that the colours this week were perfect for Pansies!
  1. I punched out 4 Whisper White Butterflies
  2. I sponged each one with Concord Crush Ink
  3. I left the centre of each butterfly clear and then sponged So Saffron into that space
  4. Then I layered the butterflies as Kathy said to do, and then I followed the rest of her instructions, including rolling the sides of the butterfly to make the flower seem more 3D.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to join us at the Colour Dare this week.

Picture Perfect Creations #59- For A Friend

Good morning and happy Victoria Day!  This weekend is a long weekend and I have put it to good use, painting my Guest Room and getting some major deep house cleaning done!  I have purged some clothing and old sheets, tossed out lots of old condiments from the fridge and even cleaned my oven!  Yes, I was motivated!

But you didn't stop by to read about my crazy weekend of cleaning!  I hope you came by to see what the newest colour challenge is over at Picture Perfect Creations this week!!!  Here it is!

I love the colours Marina Mist, Old Olive and Early Espresso.  I inked up the wonderful set called "Strength and Hope" which has such a gorgeous butterfly in it!! I love how it stamps!!!  I used my crimper AGAIN and added some little details like the satin ribbon and the few sprays of green leaves on the side.

No Stampin' Up did not get a new die for the Big Shot, that circle die is a Nestie and was a Christmas Gift from my wonderful Mother-in-Law.  This is the first time I have used it and I love how it looks on this card!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  I sure hope you get the chance to join us this week at Picture Perfect Creations!!!

Paper Players Sketch Challenge: "Fish" Big

"Fish" Big is not the sentiment I used on this card but I did use a lot of FISH!  I just adore this cute new set from the SU! Summer Mini!!!  It is called "Summer Splash" and includes a lot of fun images like an Octopus, Surfboards, a Turtle and some other beach themed images! Cute, Cute, Cute!

Nance came up with a great sketch this week for the Paper Players that I absolutely adore!  It could be intrepreted so many ways!   I decided to use Pacific Point and Real Red on my card!  I am happy with these cute little fishes!

I am not going to write too much about this tonight as I have a massive headache!  I have had it all day!  I think an early night to bed is what the doctor ordered.  Before I sign off, what do you think of my new blog look?  I think I need to tweak it a bit more!  I used the new My Digital Studio kit called "Playful Polka Dots" for the header...it was a lot of fun to make but I think I need to make it smaller.  Any thoughts?

I hope you get the chance to join us at the Paper Players this week!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Design Team has some great inspiration to get you started check them out by clicking HERE and don't forget this week's Rock Star will be our Guest Designer for June!

My card was made with the Flower Fest set AGAIN!! Yes, I love it!  This time I used the Rose Stamp and cut them out by hand.  I could have punched them out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch but I wanted to show the true curves to the rose.  I added a pearl to each rose and I used the crimper to crimp the paper right above and right below the sentiment.  It is hard to see in the photo but I love how the crimping highlight's the sentiment.  The sentiment comes from the "Word Play" stamp set which is on sale right now!!!

I used all recycled pieces from my scrap box to make this card!  I had the Melon Mambo piece already cut and embossed.  The black card base was left over from another card and the ribbon was also in my stash.  This is another retirement card for another secretary who is retiring at the end of June.  I thought the sentiment was fitting, "Imagine the Possibilities".  I sure could imagine them if I was retiring but I have 25 years to go!!!

Picture Perfect Creations Specialty Challenge: A Sketch

Today at Picture Perfect Creations, we have a sketch for you to try!  This sketch is terrific because it is versatile and easy to work with!  I decided to use the colours River Rock, Cajun Craze, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

I watercoloured the flower from the set "Growing Green".  I stamped it with Black Stazon Ink onto Watercolour Paper and using my Markers and my Aqua Painter, I coloured the flower.

The River Rock background paper was embossed with the Finial Press Embossing Folder.  I used the 5/8" Black Satin Ribbon and inked up my Pearls with a Sharpie to make them black for the two brads at the side of the card.  The sentiment comes from the "Word Play" set which is on sale right now at SU!.  It is part of the scrapbooking sale they are having for May!

That is all!  I sure hope you get the chance to play along this week!  To play along, please click HERE.

Exciting News!!!

I am excited to share that I have been accepted onto the wonderful Colour Dare Design Team!  To start off my design team duties, Riley has asked us to use the colours:

Rose Red
Baja Breeze
Sahara Sand

I absolutely loved these pretty colours and I thought of my new "On the Grow" stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  So I inked up the flowers from that set with my Stazon Inkpad in Black and watercoloured the flowers with my aqua marker.

Then I added some dimension but using Crystal Effects on my flowers and the glass vase, to make them shiny and different.  You can see the Crystal Effects much better if you click on the photo to enlarge it!

Picture Perfect Creations #58

This week at the Picture Perfect Creations, we are using some deep autumn colours that I absolutely love!  The colours may be Fall "ish" but I am a sucker for these vibrant colours and decided to use the Fabulous Florets stamp set once again.

This time I used the "other" flowers from the set and inked them up in Chocolate Chip Ink, then I stamped the flowers onto So Saffron Cardstock and snipped them out!  I really wanted the flowers to look vibrant!

The Music Notes Wheel was used to create a subtle background on the Tangerine Tango Cardstock, and I was excited to use my new "Chocolate Chip" Striped Ribbon which is avaliable in the Clearance Rack online!  Oh I love this ribbon!!!

I hope you get the chance to join us at the Picture Perfect Creations Challenge Blog!!!

Paper Players Challenge #46- A Colour Challenge

Today is Sunday which means another Paper Players Challenge for you!  This week, Ann has chosen a group of Masculine colours for us to play with!!!

I decided to ink up a brand new stamp set called "Best Dad Ever" which is avaliable in the new Mini Summer Catalogue from Stampin' Up!  The stamp set is really quite simple which is perfect for creating Masculine Cards!  I also love the many sentiments that come with the set!!!

I used my Stampin' Write Markers on the ties.  I flipped my Tie Stamp over and inked up each tie with my marker.  I did a pattern of Early Espresso and Not Quite Navy.  Then I breathed on the stamp to remoisten it, and stamped it onto Very Vanilla Paper.  The background of the card was created using the Sanded Background Stamp set in Cherry Cobbler on Cherry Cobbler Cardstock!

I hope you get the chance to join us at the Paper Players this week!

Friday Mashup Challenge-Embossed Nature

This week at the Friday Mashup Lisa is our hostess and she wants all of you to make nature inspired cards OR just make a card with some form of embossing on it, as she is a big fan of embossing also.

So here we go:

1. Make a card inspired by nature
2. Make a card with embossing on it somewhere
3. MASH it all up and create a nature card that uses embossing somewhere on it!

I made a card full of flowers and I used the Joy Fold Card and had so much fun using some scraps on my table to make it and of course, I used the old Crimper once again!!  That is my "embossed" element on my card!!!  Rather than use the Big Shot, I used the crimper!

I just crimped the top of my card card as the bottom was for writing!  I stamped the leaf on the inside too!

The big flower was punched out using the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch.  The flower is what is holding my card front down.  The Joy Fold Card is such a great fold!!!  If you have any questions about this card or fold, please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to play along with the Friday Mashup Team!
