Winners of Challenge #8

Thank you for all the wonderful submissions for last week's challenge.  I'll admit it, it was a tough challenge for me, but I was so amazed by the cards that were created using the picture as inspiration.

Our Headliner this week is:

Kerin Sylvester

We loved Kerin's use of colour and the two stamp sets she used to create this pretty card!  Isn't that sentiment wonderful?  I love that it is from a new hostess set! The little pop of yellow with the ribbon was the perfect touch!  Congratulations Kerin!

Our Cut Aboves for this week (in the order they were submitted):

Laurie

Rach

Lynn

Congrats to all our winners!  Please email me so I may send you the badge for your blog.  My email address is located in my profile.  Thank you!

Sunday we have a brand new challenge, brought to you by Corie!  We hope you check back here to see what she has come up with for all of us to play along with!

Pals Paper Arts and Clean & Simple

I wanted to make a card for the Pals Paper Arts challenge to use monochromatic purples and to use the Clean & Simple Sketch 101.  Ann Schach is a DT Member of the Pals Paper Arts and so I wanted to support her challenge blog.  She is joining us for August as one of our Guest Paper Players.

I used the "Presto Patterns Designer Paper" and inked up my "All a Flutter" butterfly stamp, both are from the summer mini.  The Designer Paper is carrying over to the big catalogue which is awesome.
I used a combination of Perfect Plum and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on a sponge to highlight the pretty pattern paper.  The butterfly fits perfectly on the "Wide Oval Punch" and I used the "Lots of Tags" die to nest it.  I used a simple sentiment from my "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and punched it out with my "Word
Window" and the "Modern Label" Punch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lesley

Pals Paper Arts Sketch and the Colour Throwdown

Today, my sweetie went to the lake with a pal which left me some time to play with my pals!  I saw the PPA Sketch this week and was instantly motivated! Plus with LeAnne's awesome colours at the Colour Throwdown, I knew I had to play!

The base of my card is Marina Mist.  I stamped the flowers from "For All You Do" in Marina Mist and then "kissed" them with the dotted stamp that comes with the set, in Not Quite Navy.  I had to sub in Certainly Celery for Wasabi, I have that ink on order!

Here is my card from the other angle.  I really enjoyed playing with these two challenges.  It was so great to have some crafting time!  It seems to be very rare that I actually get the chance to play!

Thank you for stopping by!
Smiles,
Lesley

Stamps: For All You Do, Because I Care (Hostess Level 1)
Inks: Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery (All Classic Inks)

Paper Players Challenge #8- Inspiration

Well another week has come and gone! Thank you for your wonderful submissions once again! This week we are offering an Inspiration Challenge for you. Here is the inspiration photo, taken by talented photographer Tracey Washington of "Inspire me Photography".  Thanks Tracey!  Be sure to visit her blog to see her other amazing photos.

Feel free to use the colours, the designs or whatever in the image inspires you, to create a new paper project.

Here is my card:
This is a clean and simple card using my Daisies #2 Die with the Big Shot and embossing the blue paper with my texturz plates.  The sentiment comes from Oval All.  I tried to capture the colours and the flowers in the bottom photo.  I wish I had that Roses in Winter set, it has been retired for awhile now.  My friend has it, the roses in it look just like the roses in the pottery.

The Paper Players have created some beautiful projects to inspire you!  Please click on their photos in the sidebar to visit their blogs!

Paper Players Challenge #7 (A Sketch)

We have a sketch for you this week.  Please feel free to flip the sketch or to make it your own, as long as the main design is there.  We hope you have fun!!!  I am posting early as I am experiencing technical difficulties with my blog.  So we will start the challenge now!

Here is my card:

I chose to play with some more new colours.  I used Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler...I just love that combo together.  I used the Watercolour Trio stamp set and used some of the new 1/8" ribbon in Early Espresso.  It ties so nicely in a bow...really easy to work with and it has a nice sheen!

The talented and lovely Paper Players have come up with some beautiful inspiration cards this week.  They are the best!  To visit their blogs, please click on their photos in the sidebar.

Paper Players Challenge #6 (A Colour Challenge)

Thank you again for all the adorable creations last week! This week we have our second colour challenge and we are using an inspiration photo from "Inspire Me" Photography again.  I LOVED this photo when I saw it!  Remember, if you don't have the exact colours, feel free to substitute but please make sure they are close.  The colours are Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla.

To play along, please create a new paper project using these colours and upload it to the linky below.  I have extended the date for this challenge as I will be away from my computer next Friday and Saturday.  So you have until Saturday, July 17th at 2pm (PST) to submit your work!  I will announce the winners on Sunday with our next Challenge post.

My card:
I used the "For All You Do" stamp set.  I inked the flowers in Rose Red and the stems in Certainly Celery.  The bottom panel of the card is stamped with the flourish stamp from "Vintage Vogue".  I used the sentiment from Watercolour Trio and framed it with my oval punches. It is hard to see in the photo, but the celery panel of the card is embossed with my Texturz Plate.  I used some pearls from the retired "Pretties" kit for all the flowers, now Stampin' Up is offering pearls on a sheet! I can't wait to get my hands on those!

The fabulous and fun Paper Players have some gorgeous samples to share with you!

Vintage 411

The sketch at Stampin' 411 really got me thinking! For the past two days I have been sketching and thinking and planning!  I used the new colours Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.  I LOVE the Cherry Cobbler...my goodness...it is rich and vibrant.  Well after lots of thinking and planning, this is what I came up with!
I used the "Vintage Vogue" stamp set and the En Francais background stamp.  The Friends stamp was inked up using Early Espresso and the flower was inked up in Cherry Cobbler.  I used some Vanilla Satin Ribbon and a pearl from the retired "Pretties" kit.  The main panel was created using the Top Note Die and my Big Shot.  I just cut part of the Top Note off, so it would frame the small rectangle.  I sponged around the Cherry Cobbler paper with Cherry Cobbler Ink and stamped En Francais in Cherry Cobbler Ink, to add some depth.
Thank you for stopping by!  I hope all my American friends had a wonderful Independence Day.
Smiles,
Lesley

Challenge #5-Theme Challenge (Oh Baby!)

A whole month has come and gone!  The Paper Players are onto their next month of challenges!  This promises to be a fun month, I am excited and looking forward to seeing everyone's samples and submissions.

To start off the month of challenges our THEME this week is Oh Baby!

Please create a paper project using this theme!
Use any products you have.
Feel free to combine with other challenges!

All the rules and information about our challenges is located in the top of the sidebar to your right...
please have a look!

Here is my card for this week's theme:

I have always wanted to create a little boat card with my punches!  I used the 2 square punches and cut each square I punched out of DSP on a diagonal to give me two different triangles.  The base of the boat is half of the Wide Oval Punch. I used Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Sahara Sand as my colours.  I sponged some clouds on the white circle...my little triangles got smoshed before I photographed them!

And now for the FABULOUS Paper Players' Samples!!  Please click on their photos in my sidebar to visit their blogs and to leave some love!  Please welcome Marlene Peters to our Paper Player family!  She is our Guest Designer for July!  Ann Schach was also going to be one of our Guest Designers this month as well but she is unable to at this time, so she will hopefully join us some other time in the near future!

Curtain Call Colour Challenge

I made this card for Stacey and her current colour challenge!  Loved the inspiration...went for the cupcake theme!  It is also Stacey's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Stacey!!  I used the "Crazy for Cupcakes" set and the matching wheel to make this little cupcake for the centre of my circles.
The cupcake was coloured, cut out and then popped up on a dimensional.  I love this Cupcake set and should use it more!  My card is fairly CAS...I used some Melon Mambo DSP and the cardbase is Tempting Turquoise.  I love this colour combo, I need to use it more.
I used the Scallop Circles #2 Die with the Big Shot and my Circle Scissors Plus to created the circle for the large Cupcake. The cupcake top was cut out and popped up, after I sprayed it with some Smooch Spritz in the Vanilla Shimmer...it really sparkles.  The Barely Banana is there...it is the flame.  I completed the inside too, with the other cupcake stamp from this cute set!  I coloured the images with my Stampin' Write Markers and with Ink Pads and a Blender Pen.
Thanks for stopping by!
